Question: Write the equation of circle having end points (a,b) and (p,q).

Solution:

Let the end points of the diameter of the given circle (a,b) be (x1,y1) and (p,q) be (x2,y2).

Using formula of circle equation,

(x - x1)(x - x2) + (y - y1)(y - y2) = 0

or, (x - a)(x - p) + (y - b)(y - q) = 0 is the required equation.
