Question: Find the L.C.M. of the following expression: 4x³(x-3)(x+2) and 6x²(x+2)(x+3).
Solution:
Given,
1st expression = 4x³ (x-3) (x+2)
= 2x² * 2x (x-3)(x+2)
2nd expression = 6x² (x+2)(x+3)
= 2x² * 3 (x+2)(x+3)
Now,
Lowest Common Multiples (L.C.M.) = common factors * rest factors
= 2x² (x+2) * 2x * 3 (x+3)(x-3)
= 2x² * 2x * 3 (x+2)(x²-9)
= 12x³ (x+2)(x²-9)
