Exercise 1.1

The easiest chapter you will encounter in Mathematics in Grade 10 is Sets because you've had already studied the basic concepts and rules of solving problems relating to set in earlier classes.

Here is a quick revision:
  • Set is a well defined collection of distinct objects.
  • A set is always denoted by a capital letter. Eg: A = {1,2}
Know more about sets here:

Important Formulae:
$n(U) = n(A\cup B) + n(\overline{A \cup B})$
$n(A) = n_o(A) + n(A \cap B)$
$n(B) = n_o(B) + n(A \cap B)$
$n(A \cup B) = n(A) + n(B) - n(A \cap B)$
$n(A \cup B) = n_o(A) + n_o(B) + n(A \cap B)$
$n(A \cup B) = n_o(A) + n(B)$
$n(A \cup B) = n(A) + n_o(B)$
